In the heart of Kuanzhai Alley, we transform Sanlian Taofen Bookstore into a warm, shared space for children and parents to explore Chengdu’s past and present. Through picture books, interactive workshops, and a pop-up exhibition curated with Jinyue Children's Art Museum, this night is dedicated to preserving childhood, not as something fleeting, but as something we build together.

Pop-up Exhibition: City through Children's Eyes
Curated by the Jinyue Children's Art Museum, City through Children’s Eyes is a special pop-up exhibition that brings together works by children and contemporary artists to explore themes of urban change, memory, and the meaning of "home" in Chengdu. Through a playful yet reflective lens, the exhibition reveals how the city is perceived, remembered, and reimagined by its youngest residents.
Featured works span various formats—including illustrations, short stories, and multimedia installations—and invite the audience to see Chengdu not only as a historic city but as a living space shaped by imagination, family, and evolving urban life.

Cultural Night Atmosphere
Sanlian Taofen Bookstore will be transformed into a warm, inviting cultural space, with soft lighting, reading mats, and storytelling nooks, creating an environment where families can relax, engage, and build new cultural traditions together.

Shared Reading Time
Families are invited to gather and enjoy themed story sessions centered around Chengdu’s local culture, childhood memories, and urban life. Selected picture books and stories will create a warm, immersive reading experience, guided by guest authors and storytellers.

Family Story Map
Each family will be encouraged to co-create a "story map"—a visual or written piece that traces their personal memories, family traditions, and neighborhood experiences, turning collective storytelling into a colorful communal memory wall.

Artmaking Workshops
Through interactive craft activities such as handmade books, paper lanterns, and puppet-making, families will explore creative ways to express their stories, fostering closer bonds and sparking children’s imagination.

Each participating family will receive a small takeaway kit—featuring their handmade storybook or artwork, a printed family memory card, and a commemorative bookmark. These keepsakes are designed to extend the emotional connection beyond the event and encourage continued family reading and storytelling at home.
